Everyone Should Take Supplements for Optimal Results

There are several reasons why everyone should be using a multi-vitamin supplement. Even if you think you are a healthy eater, there is no way to really get all the essential vitamins and minerals that our body needs to function optimally. Obviously nature intended our food supply to provide us with the nutrients
that we need and those nutrients would have been sufficient in our food 100 years ago, but our food today is highly processed, genetically modified and prepared in a way that destroys much of the nutritional content.

Another reason we need to supplement is poor digestion. If our digestive systems functioned optimally we wouldn’t need as many high-quality nutrients in supplement form, but that is not the case. It is estimated that one half of the US population produces insufficient stomach acid, which diminishes the ability to absorb nutrients from food and can increase inflammation.

Also poor food preparation. When you cook food improperly such as microwaving you risk reducing the nutritional value.

Another reason to supplement is environment toxins. These toxins end up destroying our cells, however many of these pollutants can be detoxified by natural supplements such as glycine, vitamin c, and selenium. If we don’t rid our bodies of these toxins they build up and can cause obesity because our bodies are not functioning properly.

Furthermore, we live in a very stressful world and many of us neglect our health. The stress builds up and than we lose sleep which is a major issue in our society today. There are studies saying that 30 to 40 percent of the US adult population suffers from insomnia, which causes higher mortality rates. There are supplements such as magnesium, sulfate, and vitamin E that help with sleep.

Another important time to supplement is during a weight loss program. When people cut calories this can lead to nutrient deficiencies. Also as we lose weight, often the protein requirements increase as the body will start relying on protein as an energy source, thus using a protein supplement will enable the dieter to spare muscle loss, prevent hunger, and stabilize blood glucose.

All in all these are some very key reasons why most people should be taking a supplement, such as a vitamin and protein supplement (as long as there are no major health issues and Dr. gives the ok!) . You will feel so much better, you will have more energy,  your work and workout performance will increase tremendously and you will improve your overall quality of life!
